LONDON – Opel Europe has appointed agency French creative hotshop Marcel Paris to work on the pan-European Corsa Silver Line limited edition campaign, following a three-way pitch.
The agency, which is backed by Publicis Groupe, fought off competition from 180 Amsterdam and McCann Frankfurt for the €15m (£10.1m) account.
The campaign for the General Motors-owned Opel brand, known as Vauxhall in the UK, will be aired in France, Italy, Spain and other countries in Europe from January 2006.
Marcel Paris was launched earlier this year in May by award-winning creative directors Frederic Raillard and Farid Mokart, who previously worked at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and CLM/BBDO.
The agency was named after the founder of Publicis, Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet, and set up to compete with established agency hotshops such as Mother.
Marcel launched with between 20 and 30 staff and clients including Nestle, Heineken and Allied Domecq.
