Power steering was previously only fitted to the Corsa Lite Plus.
Other changes to the model range include body colour wheel arch mouldings and bumpers as well as a new "clear" headlamp design enhance the exterior specification.
A new 14-inch alloy wheel rounds of the styling revisions on the Sport model.
Together with these revisions comes a price repositioning of the range with recommended retail price of the base model Corsa Lite increasing marginally to R69 990, the R1390 increase going towards the power steering upgrade.
The Corsa Lite Plus model is replaced by the Corsa Lite with air-conditioning, which retails at R78 990, a reduction in price from the model it replaces.
Opel has dropped the price on the Corsa Lite Sport, which also comes with air-conditioning, with about R4000.
This model now retails for R82990.
Power for all Corsa Lite models comes from a 1.4 litre fuel injected engine. Maximum power is 65 kW at 6200 r/min and peak torque of 112 Nm is delivered at 2800 r/min.
Safety features include dual side-impact protection beams in the doors, front and rear crumple zones, and a reinforced passenger cell. Inertia reel seat belts are provided for four passengers while a centre lap belt secures occasional occupants of the centre rear seat.
Vehicle security is provided by an advanced transponder immobiliser system.
A vibrant interior design matches the youthful image of the Corsa Lite while split and folding rear seats provide added versatility.
Also included in the features list are drinks holders and remotely adjustable side mirrors.
The Corsa Lite is covered by a full three year/100 000 km warranty and a three year anti-corrosion warranty.
